A no preparation printable number search puzzle, identifying the expanded form of 3 and 4 digit numbers.  A fun way for students to individually develop skills in place value. It may be used as a worksheet or as a game where students take turns to find each number and the winner is the player with the most parts of the bee hive shaded. 
Each puzzle has a few tricky numbers with zeros in different places so students learn the importance of the place value of a zero.
